Santa Barbara County has won Wine Region of the Year in the Wine Enthusiast's 2021 Wine Star Awards. Not only does the region offer a stunning variety of microclimates, world-class cuisine, and the cosmopolitan seaside city of Santa Barbara, it is also touted as a leader in sustainable practices. Santa Barbara County is home to many organic, biodynamic, and regenerative vineyards. There is a higher proportion of female winemakers in the region than anywhere else in California, and several wineries offer enhanced opportunities and visibility for farm workers.
