Loria is a chef, baker, gardener and artist who loves creating delicious and healthy foods using local, seasonal and highest quality ingredients. Her food is always full of eye-popping color and unforgettable taste and often, many of the herbs, edible flowers, fruits and vegetables that she uses in her dishes come from her home garden. We had the pleasure of getting to know a little bit more about her, her business, and her love for Santa Barbara.
Meet Loria Stern
Q: How did you start your business?
A: I actually started my business by accident. Several years ago, I was posting photos of my baked goods on Instagram and then all of a sudden, people started emailing me to order them. At this point I did not even have a website. When I did finally get a website selling my treats, I received 20 orders within the first several days. The rest is history.
Q: What makes you the most passionate about your work?
A: I love being able to be creative and have freedom. I look at my work as both art and a service of necessity. Everyone needs to eat, I love feeding people, and I also love being able to work with my hands to create beautiful and delicious foods.
Q: What are your favorite projects/product/menu item?
A: Fancy wedding cakes or my colorful feasts.
Q: Where can we find you on a weekend or your day off?
A: On the tennis court, in my garden or art studio.
Q: How long have you been in business?
A: A bit over 3 years.
Q: Store/restaurant location
A: I am located in Mount Washington Los Angeles and my baking kitchen isn't too far from where I live. Right now my company ships nationally and supplies several Southern California stores for retail.

A: Keep on working hard. It takes 10,000 hours to be a pro at something!
Q: Connection to Santa Barbara, why do you work/live here?
A: I went to high school in Carpinteria and spent a lot of time living in Montecito. It is simply paradise!
Loria values local community and respects the environment and works with a number of local farmers as seasonal and organic produce are top priority. She also implements creative waste reduction and water conservation practices whenever possible.
Loria is available to plan creative menus and cook delicious meals for any occasion - from private events to meal deliveries to special occasion cakes.
