Mission Canyon

Eclectic community situated in the foothills above the majestic Santa Barbara Mission

Welcome to Mission Canyon

A slice of heaven on earth

Mission Canyon is located just north of Santa Barbara and is famously known for being the spot for the historic Santa Barbara Mission. With a population of just over 2,500, this is a tight-knit community with a lot of character. Spectacular views of both the mountains and ocean, tree-lined streets, and a private lifestyle are just a few reasons that people love living here.

A varied mixture of architectural styles can be found in Mission Canyon. Various styles of homes include English cottages, Tudor-style, bungalows, Spanish-style and transitional ranch. Newer homes are often built in Mediterranean and Bravura Modern. It’s worth noting that many homes face the Pacific, resulting in some spectacular views that can be enjoyed from the comfort of your home.

Located adjacent to the mission is the Rose Garden, with more than 1,500 rose plants. Stop by and smell the roses during the springtime! If you want to learn more about the fascinating history of the area, check out the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. Nestled in nature along Mission Creek, this museum attracts more than 150,000 annually.

Rocky Nook Park is also located near the mission and provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy a relaxing day outside. From quiet, shaded areas to plenty of benches to trails, you can easily connect with nature here. Rocky Nook Park is also home to the Santa Barbara Woman’s Club.
